Superintendent's Update - June 10, 2022

Dear Monomoy Families and Staff,

We are in the home stretch now, with only a few weeks left of school. Our last day will be June 28, a half day.

In COVID news, our numbers this week have shown a dramatic decrease, with only 19 total cases across the district reported this past week. We will not be continuing our COVID dashboard over the summer, and hope that it won’t be necessary for the next school year.

Recent national and local events have prompted us to ensure that our safety protocols are reviewed and updated as needed. Our administrative team has been meeting regularly with our district Crisis Team, which includes members of public safety and local law enforcement in both towns, to review the events of the past few weeks in order to reflect upon and improve our own preparedness. In all discussions, the safety of our students and staff is our priority, along with the peace of mind of our parents and caregivers, and we will continue to review and refine our protocols.

Graduation for the MRHS Class of 2022 was last weekend, and it was a wonderful evening with great weather and lots of proud smiles. You can watch the ceremony here, as well as find photos, future plans of our graduates, scholarship info, and more. Special thanks to Monomoy Dollars for Scholars and the community donors who fund so many scholarships for our students. This year, Monomoy seniors in the Class of ‘22 received a record $498,452 in total scholarships through Dollars for Scholars. We are lucky to live in such a supportive community.

The coming weeks will be packed with concerts, award ceremonies, field days, and lots of other end-of-the-year fun. Enjoy!

Scott Carpenter, Ed.D.
