Monomoy Regional High School names Jeff Sylvia as new Assistant Principal
June 14, 2021 -- Following an extensive search, Jeff Sylvia has been named as Monomoy Regional High School's new Assistant Principal. Sylvia will join the current MRHS leadership team of Principal Jennifer Police and Assistant Principal David Alexander.
A search committee of 12 people has worked over the past month to select the new Assistant Principal to add to the MRHS team. The committee was composed of parents, faculty, staff, students, and administrators. After a very thorough search and interview process, the committee put forward three finalists for the final interviews with Principal Police and the building administration team. Following those interviews, Sylvia was offered the position.
Sylvia joins Monomoy from East Bridgewater Junior-Senior High School, where he served as an administrator for the last two years. Prior to his time at EBJSHS, he spent 22 years at Bridgewater-Raynham High School as a Social Studies teacher (19 years) and Assistant Principal (3 years). Additionally, Sylvia was the Head Baseball Coach at Taunton High School for 16 years, where he led his team to the Eastern Mass Finals.
“It is important to acknowledge that all three of our finalists were exceptional and demonstrated the skills, experience, and capacity to take on an administrative role in any school or district,” said Police. “Jeff's background is impressive, both as a teacher and most recently, in school administration, and we look forward to the contributions he will make to our school community.”
