Ms. Jessica Looney - Math

My name is Jessica Looney and I am very excited about teaching 7th grade Math! I earned a B.S. degree in Mathematics from UMass Dartmouth with a heavy concentration in Civil Engineering and my Master's in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University. Seventh grade math is fun and exciting and I hope to bring that enthusiasm back to the students with creative lessons, hands-on learning, and good old fashioned hard work.

I was born and raised in Brockton, MA, where my education career in education began. After working as a teacher's assistant, I found my passion in education and dedicated my life to this profession. This led to my first official teacher position as the middle school math and science teacher in Rockland, MA at North River Collaborative for severely emotionally impaired students. After gaining an immense worth of knowledge, I pursued employment opportunities closer to home on Cape Cod and subsequently held several teaching positions in public schools there. After finding what I thought was my “fit”, covid hit hard and I was not immuned to its effects which led me to the wonderful opportunity of becoming a Monomoy Regional Middle School 7th grade math teacher.

I have been a member of the Dennis Women’s Flag Football league for over a decade and have earned the MVP title twice in my time with the team. I am also a first mate on a fishing charter boat and typically compete in annual local fishing tournaments giving the “guys” a run for their money! When I’m not playing football or out on the boat soaking up the best of what Cape Cod has to offer, I am a proud mom of my furbaby, Whitman. He is a remarkable kitty cat with a booming personality and unbelievable cuteness with his pink nose, two different colored eyes, and pure white fur...when he’s not rolling around in the black mulch beds!!
